Shopmium is a free Cashback app that enables you to access exclusive offers on everyday brands found in the supermarket.

HOW DOES IT WORK

Using the Shopmium app is pretty easy and straightforward.

First, you want to create an account. There are two possible ways to do this:

• Using the “Facebook Connect” tool that takes the information from your Facebook profile
• Manually entering your personal info: name, last name, email, date of birth and method of payment.

Simply buy an eligible product at any store and keep your receipt. Click on the piggy bank icon at the bottom of the screen, select the button ‘Request my cashback’. You will then be asked to take a picture of the receipt and scan the product barcode. You can scan multiple items in one go, even if they are on the same receipt. 

One thing I’d recommend is to hold onto your receipt until your cashback claim has been approved!

Once your cashback is validated, the payment will be sent automatically to your chosen PayPal/bank account. 

WHAT SHOULD YOU INCLUDE IN THE PICTURE OF YOUR RECEIPT?

The required information on your receipt is the following:
– Store name
– Name of product and its price, including VAT
– Total amount of your order
– Date and time of the order

HOW LONG AFTER SUBMITTING MY RECEIPT WILL I RECEIVE MY CASHBACK?

Once a cashback claim is submitted, it is processed within 2 business days maximum. You can follow the status of your claims in the “My Purchases” section.

If there is an issue with your request (incomplete photos, blurry receipt…) you will be contacted by email and you will then have the opportunity to upload more pictures if needed.

Just make sure you check your spam or junk folder since it may go there.

You will receive an email to let you know the payment has been sent.

After that, you should be receiving your cashback in your PayPal account within the next 24 hours/ bank account in the next 72 business hours (Monday-Friday).

One thing that I love about Shopmium is that Offers in the app change weekly and that’s because they work with over 500 of the biggest supermarket product manufacturers, such as Danone, Nestlé, SC Johnson, Heineken, McCain, Pepsico and many more.

Shopmium Review: The Shopmium Rewards Club

The Shopmium app has its own rewards club (Silver and Gold) – it’s fairly simple! Basically the more you use the app and the more offers you redeem the more levels you move up. When you move up a level there are perks such as cashback being paid more quickly and the customer service team prioritizing any queries you may have.

If you reach the Gold level, an exclusive offer will appear on your app on your birthday! You will then have 14 days to redeem it.

Conclusion and Personal Thoughts

My experience with Shopmium has been great so far and I have made quite a few money through cashback offers!

It is an app that have made me discover new foods in the UK supermarkets that I wouldn’t have otherwise tried. The concept is really clever, as it’s a win-win for customers and also new food brands trying to get their brand out there!

It gives you a list of items either discounted or for free. You simply buy the one you want and, once home, take a picture of the receipt and then scan the items and after a couple of days, you get your money back on PayPal! Easy, clear, straightforward.
